Warning signs of a fake overseas job offer
- You are asked to pay for a job, visa or “work permit” beyond official fees
- The agent is not on the Bureau of Emigration’s licensed OEP list
- Offers of work on a visit, Umrah or student visa
- Unusually high salary for little or no experience
- No interview, or only a WhatsApp chat
- Payment requested in cash or to a personal account
- Pressure to decide or pay quickly
Verify and report
- Check licensed promoters on the Bureau of Emigration OEP list
- Report fraud to the FIA: helpline 1991, complaint.fia.gov.pk
- Complain to your local Protectorate of Emigrants office
